Supplementary Materials for the "Taste of Pi" workshop:

"Satellites, Engine Testing and Strange Ways of Counting".

This material supplements my presentation of October 16, 2004 at SFU for the "Taste of Pi" workshop entitled "Satellites, Engine Testing and Strange Ways of Counting".

During the lecture, I mentioned the CASSINI satelite. Here is the NASA website. Here is a nice diagram of it. Here and here is information on the UV detector which is on the CASSINI. I worked with George Lawrence at the LASP laboratory on a design challenge regarding the Codacon UVIS detector. here is a paper I wrote related mathematics (Gray code with large minimum run length) behind the UV detector. Here a site regarding the bell ringing problem.

Here is the list of questions I distributed at the lecture.

I know this page is still a bit sparse. More will appear later, such as answers to some of the questions.
