Math 251 Lecture 14: Wednesday, October 13th 1999.
Limits of functions of two variables were defined. Various
examples were given, showing how the limit-can be path-dependent,
thereby causing the limit to fail. These examples were plotted in Maple so one could see, for
example, how a limit could be consistent along all straight
paths, but different along a curved path.
Continuity was defined for functions of 2 variables, and
various examples were given.
