Math 314 Lecture 11: Friday, October 1st 1999.

A theorem was proved, using Parseval's equation, showing that a set of orthonormal functions closed in the sense of mean convergence is complete. Parseval's equation was also used to obtain an expression for the minimum error in a Fourier series.

The rest of today's lecture was on the proof of the Fourier Convergence Theorem. The mean features of the proof were outlined. Details can be found in the textbook.
