Math 314 Lecture 26: Monday, November 8th 1999.
Today, we applied d'Alembert's method of solving the wave equation to the
case of a semi-infinite string with a time-dependent boundary
condition.
A simple example was animated in
Maple.
Then we moved on to an introduction of the Potential Equation
(chapter 4 of the textbook), and a discussion of its uses and the types of
boundary conditions encountered.
