Math 314 Lecture 34: Friday, November 26th 1999.

We continued with our discussion of the Heat Equation in a Cylinder.

Then we turned our attention to solving the Radial Wave Equation for the Vibrations of a Circular Membrane with No Theta-Dependence. The solution was given in terms of a sum involving Bessel Functions. The normal modes of oscillation of the circular membrane were animated in Maple, using a 3-Dimensional animation.
