  • Sec. 4.3 #34: 4 points
    • 1 point for the answer.
    • 3 points for for work (using Cramer's rule, noticing what happens to the determinants).

  • Sec. 5.1 #20: 6 points
    • 3 points for the eigenvalues.
    • 3 points for the eigenvectors.
    • If eigenvalues calculated incorrectly but then eigenvectors correctly for the eigenvalues calculated, credit for eigenvectors was given.
    • If the matrix was transposed, the eigenvalues would be correct, but two of the eigenvectors were wrong, and students lost 2 points.
