Maple Exercises:
[See the posted Visualizing Integration Regions and
Polar Integration Regions Maple Worksheets.]
Instructions for the Maple Exercises:
- Staple these Maple Exercises to the end of all your handwritten work.
- Write explanations in your Maple work, describing what you are doing and why. Don't just
hand-in a string of Maple computations with no explanation. The explanations can either
be written by hand, or by using "text" within Maple (just click on the "T" in the toolbar).
- Clearly label each Maple problem.
The Maple Exercises:
- jh1: Use Maple to plot the 2-D polar regions whose area is calculated in
section 13.4 #6 and #11. Sketch in pen on these graphs the direction of
the inner integration.
- jh2: Use Maple to plot the 2-D polar region being
integrated over in section 13.4 #28. Then plot a 3-D picture
of the volume which is being calculated by the integral. Use the
methods illustrated in Visualizing
Integration Regions and Polar
Integration Regions to remove the extraneous parts of the 3-D plot.
