a note i received from central computing ... Instructions for use of Distributed Computing Facilities workstations --------------------------------------------------------------------- Distributed Computing Facilities has converted their network infrastructure to a Windows 2000 Active Directory environment. Students will be required to update their existing SFU Computing ID into the Active Directory before they can use the public computer labs and resources. Account activation may be performed at either the Micro Computer Facility in AQ3148 or the Information Commons on the 3rd floor of W.A.C Bennett library. A short cut to the Active Directory web page has been installed on the local desktop, and users are able to authenticate using a temporary guest account. But they must log out after their account has been updated into the AD and use their SFU Computing ID. This is a one time step that is required. Please instruct departmental Instructors, Teaching Assistants, Sessionals, and students of the procedure for account activation. Thank you, Distributed Computing Faciliites Academic Computing Services
