an opportunity to acquire an invaluable skill-set that will ultimately
help to build upon my analytical, interpersonal and leadership
capabilities. In my spare time, in the winter I like to ski and

I am a fourth year Management and Systems Science student. Like
Andrew when I first came to SFU I wanted to graduate with a Computer
Science degree. However, I found that MSSc provided a wider breadth
of curriculum and in particular I have found the exposure to the
faculty of business very valuable. Although now I only work between
semesters, for the past ten years I have worked for a small
manufacturing company in Delta; The Goalie Store. Before focusing my
time exclusively on school, I had the opportunity to manage the entire
production facility for three years (www.goaliestore.com). It is this
experience coupled with my schooling at SFU that have given me the
leadership and analytical skills that have prepared me for a career as
a production manager.

I am currently a third year's (2002) Management and System Science (MSSc)
student at Simon Fraser University. The program of MSSc has offered me an
opportunity to study a wide range of courses in different disciplines. The
courses that I have taken are valuable as they allow me to apply theories
into real-life practice. Business IT Management and Development courses
excite me the most, and I am planning to further my studies in these areas
after my graduation. In addition, the projects for these courses
allow me to develop and enhance my problem solving, conflict resolutions,
strategic planning, team building and communication skills with others.
This experience is much valuable to my future career. Apart from academic
studies, motorcycling and hiking are the activities that I enjoy most in my
leisure time.

Currently in my final year of the MSSc program, I look forward to
exploring the various opportunities that await. Although my immediate
interests are oriented towards software development, my career goals

the work is itself the reward. Long term appeal however, has been
directed towards Business Analyst. I have a great passion for music,
enjoy a variety of sports, and am always in the middle of an
interesting read.
