This presentation will build on work done by the Sheffield team, some in collaboration with the Western Ontario group led by Paul Sullivan. This work will be summarized, and emphasis will be placed on the consequences of the results for modelling the probability density functions of both concentration and dosage. The bulk of the talk will focus on three topics, viz.:
(i) how models of the pdfs should be evaluated;
(ii) models of the pdf of dosage;
(iii) relationship of the work with the closure problem.
