Higher Order Finite Difference Methods for Incompressible Viscous Flow

Abstract: A general introduction to fourth order methods for incompressible flow will be given. The reasons for turning to higher order methods are examined, some general approaches are considered, and an analytical tool that can be used to predict the order and type of errors that are generated by a wide class of schemes is presented.
