The implementation of three-dimensional front tracking method has enabled us to realistically study the multiphase interfacial problem with different equations of state. In this talk, we will discuss some innovative algorithms in the three-dimensional front tracking method and its application in the study of Rayleigh-Taylor and Richtmyer-Meshkov instabilities. This includes the study of the growth rate of the 3-D RM instability in its nonlinear regime and on a re-shocked fluid interface. We will compare the numerical results with the analytical model by Zhang and Sohn. We will also present the numerical simulation of the 3-D bubble merger in the Rayleigh-Taylor instability and an analysis of the pinch-off phenomenon during merger.
