  1. Symmetric initial conditions:
    Initially symmetric fibres maintain their symmetry throughout their motion. Depending on flexibility, the fibre may rotate as a rigid body, or deform into a more complicated shape. Two examples are below:

  2. Asymmetric initial conditions:
    When the initial conditions have some asymmetry, then the observed fibre motions usually fall under the classification of snake orbits.
