What is it?

The PIMS-SFU Undergraduate Summer School on Scientific Computing on Curved Surfaces is an intensive four week program for Canadian and international undergraduate students. The core of the program is a course which provides an introduction to continuum models on curved surfaces, and the numerical solution of the corresponding partial differential equations. Working groups will be formed to solve problems by building mathematical models and then applying and modifying numerical software. Please refer to our application information page for details on how to apply.

Academic Credit

The course can be taken for credit at SFU. Students from other universities may be able to obtain transfer credit. Taking the course for credit is not a requirement to participate fully in the program.

Funding

Accepted external students will receive housing and possibly travel assistance.
