Linear algebra is a field of growing practical importance. It plays a fundamental role in virtually every scientific application involving some form of computation.
In this course you will learn the basic principles of linear algebra and some of its applications. The goal of the course is to help you understand why and how things work, and to help you gain a perspective of possible applications. We are not always attempting a mathematically rigorous treatment, but you will be introduced to the way mathematicians think about this subject.
