Prerequisites:

MATH 152 or MATH 155; or MATH 158 with a grade of A or B. It is recommended that MATH 232 be completed before this course is attempted.

Textbook:

Calculus, Early Transcendentals (3rd Edition), by James Stewart, ITP Nelson.

Course Description:

Vectors, solid analytic geometry, differential calculus of several variables, multiple integrals, cylindrical and spherical coordinates, line integrals.

Note: This outline may be subject to change as the semester progresses, but you can take it to be at least 80% accurate.


Lecture Notes:

A summary of each lecture will be posted on the Class Web Site, along with scanned-in colour transparancies which were used in the lectures.

Homework Assignments:

Problems will be given during each lecture, in order to help you understand the concepts covered in each class. The problem sets will be due weekly at the beginning of each Friday's class. The homework assignments will also be posted on the Class Web Site, along with solutions (after the assignment is due).

Grading:

Assignments - 25%
Midterm Exam 1 - 15%
Midterm Exam 2 - 15%
Final Exam - 45%
