Credit
The course component of the program can be taken for credit as SFU course MATH 398. Students taking the course for credit will write an exam in the final week. SFU students who have been accepted to the program can simply register for this course during their usual registration period for summer. Such students should apply to the program by March 31, 2015.
Non-SFU students who wish to take the course for credit must apply for visiting student status at SFU. Note that students are not required to take the course for credit and may be full participants in the program independently of their credit status.
Credit procedure for non-SFU students
The procedure to apply for visiting student status is as follows:- Apply by December 21, 2014 to attend the summer school. You will hear by December 31, 2014 if your application has been accepted.
- Check with your home institution what the procedure is to obtain credit at SFU that is eligible for transfer. Normally this involves obtaining a "letter of permission".
- Apply for visiting student status at SFU for "2015 Summer Session". Details. The application deadline is January 31, 2015, so you will want to apply well in advance of that.
As at all Canadian universities, there are fees associated with registering as a (visiting) student at SFU. The course, MATH 398, is 3 units.
